| Hey everyone, Xanga has served me well and faithfully over the years but I'm moving over to Blogger. I've spent EIGHT years on this site so it's time for new beginnings. Here's the link...I'll still be getting emails from xanga, so Steve, please continue to make me laugh like an idiot at work.

| Happy new year everyone! 2007 was an interesting year...I started it in Boston and ended it in Boston. I was going to recap my year but I'm in a forward thinking mood so let's forget that. What are my plans for 2008? Well I'm starting grad school at nyu in a few weeks...I've been bitching and carping about it to everyone who asks which I now see is childish. So I'm going back to school...it won't kill me (I hope) and I'll actually be learning material relevant to my career. Fortunately, my dear pops gave me his "old" laptop which works a grillion times better than my old one. Point in fact, my original laptop shut down after 5 minutes of use and would blink malevolently at me when I doubleclicked on anything. This one is fancy and shiny and has a pink penguin sticker on it. No, my dad didn't have a penguin on his laptop...I just stuck it there.
So besides school, I hope to move ahead a bit at Pearson. I believe I'll get my year-end review in March so I'll see what the next step is. March also signifies my 25th birthday (aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh old aaaaaaaaage). I'll probably have a shindig at a bar in nyc and I believe I'll also be heading down to south carolina for a long weekend. Penetrating the deep south...speaking of vacations, I'm heading to Vail in February and I'll probably be back in california during the summer for various weddings. I'd love to visit London again but what with school and my inevitable lack of funds, that may not be happening.
I don't make resolutions. I'm awful at keeping them...I think I may have said the exact same thing in my blog entry for new year's 2007...however, I do see 2008 as the year where the transition from post-college flounderer to semi-capable adult becomes more readily apparent. Who knows? The nose knows......where the heck is that from? Alrite, ending this post on an ambiguous note. Have a wonderful year, everyone

| Damn. I forgot to take the dumplings out of the freezer. Now to defrost them (seeing as I've been microwaveless for about a year now) I'll have to stick them in a bowl of hot water and then I'll probably lie down on the couch and forget about them. When I do remember them (approximately an hour later) I'll start up and run over to the sink only to see the dumplings have melted into a congealed sticky mass of asian-ness.
Other news in bullet point: - got into NYU...getting my master's in publishing (back to school shopping anyone?) - going to Whistler over xmas with mom, dad, Sister Yow, cousins, aunt and uncle. will probably be hammered the entire time. - had a dream I was in Palestine last night... - forgot to take the dumplings out of the freezer. | | |
| And so summer is almost over. (Although you wouldn't be able to tell from the weather this past weekend.) I'm actually looking forward to fall in NYC. Crisp air, beautiful foliage...reminds me of why I moved to this coast.
I'm in a nostalgic mood. It's interesting to think of the people you meet in your life and the effect they have on you several years down the road. I think what I love the most is the possibility that's inherent in a relationship with a friend. We are bound by nothing. Think of it...the conversations you could have, the places you could travel to, the jokes exchanged. For me, a good friend that I have a profound connection with is even better than a good book. And for those of you who know me well, that's saying a lot
That being said...I can't wait for next year..
